The Potenza RE070 is Bridgestone’s Extreme Performance Summer tire developed for Original Equipment use in sizes for the 2012 Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition, 2004-2007 all-wheel drive Subaru Impreza WRX STI performance sedans, as well as 2008-2009 Honda S2000 CR (Club Racer) sports cars. While designed to combine predictable handling on the street with extreme dry traction on the track, the Potenza RE070, like all Extreme Performance Summer tires, these tires are not intended to be serviced, stored nor driven in near- and below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

The Potenza RE070 features a high-grip tread compound molded into an asymmetric tread design to combine handling with traction. Semi-Slick outboard shoulder blocks and several continuous inboard ribs enhance initial responsiveness and increase lateral stiffness to reduce the irregular wear that can occur during hard cornering. The tire’s internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon to blend high-speed durability with uniform ride quality.

  1. Best tires I have ever owned, by far!! These are the OEM tire that come on the Subaru STI, and Nissan GTR. For my second set of tires, I made the mistake of putting a different set of extreme performance summer tires on my STI, and it completely changed the way the car drove and what it could handle… for the WORSE, and they didn’t last 20,000 miles. So for my third set, I decided to go back to stock. SO glad I did. These tires are amazing! Probably the closest you can get to a track only tire, and still be street legal. Yet they have excellent wear, too. My first set lasted 35,000 miles, and this current set is up to 20, and about half way through.Tires are the most important easy driver controlled component of how a car handles and performs, so why skimp on tires. This tire is a large part of why the STI is such a monster. As far as I am concerned, nothing else on the market comes close. You get what you pay for, in this case, this saying is completely true.

  2. Best tires I’ve ever owned. Used to have Yokohama Avids,a horrible tire. With these I feel that I have a new car. Quiet, quick, solid performance. Fantastic tires. I bought these after reading the Tire Rack reports.

  3. Excellent tire! OEM tire on my STi, This tire is an awesome tire for dry warm weather driving, although noisy this tire exhibits excellent dry traction, cornering abilty, and steering response. In the cold, even at temp, or in wet weather this tire seems to struggle, and on/off ramps become a challange at speed as well… unless you like to drive sideways- for those who enjoy a controlled skid this tires predicability comes in handy. i DO NOT reccomend using in snow or icy conditions as although traction while moving may be possible its the stopping that just doesnt happen. I was dissapointed by treadwear when i only got 10k miles, but for a tire of this nature and my driving habits i guess thats up to par. I have since switched to RE-11’s and so far expect to see twice the mileage and have experienced better performance dry and wet…bottom line there are cheaper alternatives to this tire for the but still a excellent performer.

  4. This tire is solid all the way around in dry weather.Strong sidewall feel in corners! I will buy these again with out a doubt.Wet weather is not recommended for these tires unless you have an A.W.D car.If going to the track 40-45 psi works nicely. These tires will only get 10-12000 miles on heavy driving.super sticky….have fun!

  5. Great tire , Would buy again if the price is lower , no complaints at all . Have done a few track days , and 12 auto -x days and the tire is still great . If it’s g— enough for the nissan mighty gtr , and sti . You really can’t go wrong .
