The SP Sport Maxx is Dunlop’s Max Performance Summer tire developed for high-powered sports cars, sporty coupes and luxury performance sedans. Designed to be exhilarating in dry and reassuring in the wet, SP Sport Maxx tires are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

SP Sport Maxx tires feature Dunlop’s optimized blend of silica and high-structured carbon black tread compound molded into a directional tread design that features large, independent shoulder blocks, Hydro-Paddle intermediate ribs and a stable continuous center rib. These features work together to keep more of the tire on more of the road more of the time, improving water drainage and maintaining constant road contact to impart more responsive handling, wet driving control and high-speed stability.

The tire’s internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by Dunlop’s Jointless Band (JLB) spirally wrapped nylon to provide high-speed durability while minimizing weight. The tires feature a multi-radius profile with a rayon cord casing for high-speed capability and ride quality.

  1. really quick… this tire is the same one that the flintstones use on they car!!! I never ever had a tire so hard and uncomfortable as this one. Even the racing Pirellis are more comfortable than this one!

  2. Came stock on Audi Q7. Worst tires I’ve owned – horrible tread life (expect <15K w/avg driving) and noisy. Switched to Yokohama Advan Sport V105 – much better and cheaper. Yes, having a heavy vehicle (5K+) impacts wear, but I'm guessing Audi chose them to come w/vehicle to help their German tire manufacturer Dunlop.

  3. These tires came as OEM on my Q7 TDi S-Line. To my surprise after 10500 miles they wore out very quickly, at the end of the wear cycle they get kind of loud.I don’t drive aggressively so I was expecting a little longer life. May be has to do with the weight of the Audi Q7 but I had seen other reviews of heavier vehicles and don’t mention any complaints about tread wear.

  4. These were the factory tires for my Q7 TDI and for my first experience with these tires I would say that they were good. I replaced the tires around 24K miles because the tread bar was starting to show. But mainly because I had gotten a screw in the back passenger tire and neglected to get it patched right away and instead would refill the air in said tire every few days causing the inside of the tire to crack from riding under inflated. If it had not been for the screw and neglect I probably would have gotten around 30K miles off of these tires which wouldn’t be to bad for their low profile and tread life rating. The tires handled great with good ride quality and comfortable noise levels. I took the car on a road trip from southern California to Seattle Washington and the tires felt great in all conditions dry and rain. After being satisfied with these tires I would recommend them and purchase them again for this vehicle.

  5. Stock tires that came with the WRX. They’re good tires the only problem is that living in an area that actually snows in the winter you do not want these unless you have a pair of winters in stock. It’s basically like driving on wet ice in the snow, but if you’re buying these then you probably want to know how it deals in summer conditions. I really like these tires I can take turns (faster than I should) like a champ. They’ll stick and wont let go. If you’re driving on new asphalt that’s a different story, back to the wet ice, you’ll lose grip pretty quick depending on how quick you’re taking that turn. Dry conditions they’re really good though. Wet… not bad but there’s definitely better.
