The Firehawk Indy 500 is Firestone’s Ultra High Performance Summer tire developed for drivers of sports cars, sporty coupes and performance sedans who want to maximize sport driving pleasure through racing-inspired technology. The Firehawk Indy 500 is designed to deliver impressive performance in wet and dry conditions.

Like all summer tires, Firehawk Indy 500 tires are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Firestone Firehawk Indy 500The Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 uses a new, high-performance, silica-enhanced Long Link Carbon tread rubber compound molded into an aggressive-looking asymmetric tread design featuring large independent shoulder blocks designed to improve cornering and handling in dry conditions. The center circumferential groove features proprietary Pulse Groove Technology to enhance water evacuation, and combined with the new tread compound and two additional circumferential grooves, provides shorter stopping distances in the wet than its predecessor.

The tire’s internal structure features a high-turnup polyester casing (2 ply in some sizes) beneath twin high-tensile steel belts and nylon reinforcement to provide responsive handling, stability and high-speed capability.

  1. so far these tires are by far better than the tires that came on the car. unfortunately i got a nail and not even a 1,000 miles on them. so much quieter than the Perelli’s from the factory.

  2. I am very pleased with theses tires, as this is not a every day driver, weekend only I was looking for a tire that was close to my Michelin Pilots on my BMW in handling without the price. Low Noise, good looking, good dry handling, I have only driving this car in the rain once, right price can’ t beat them.

  3. I’m a mother that daily drives and autocrosses with these tires and I’m shocked how well they have held up! Can’t stress enough how grippy they feel when cornering hard. I’ve had them for about a year and have put about 20k miles on them between daily driving and racing and there is still decent tread left

  4. I’m on a second set of these tires because not only do they look super sporty, but they also live up to their name! I am a very spirited driver, on highways I go well above the speed limit (Safely of course), zip through traffic with no loss of power or grip from these tires. I think having my car lowered a little has also helped me enjoy these tires even more as I push it into corners. Don’t even get me started when it rains, I have 0 worries when it comes to driving as fast as I’d like and however I’d like. I push my car sometimes, and these tires have yet to fail me.I just recently purchased a BMW, and I’ve already added a pair of these to my cart to replace OEM tires on my BMW. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND these tires to anyone looking for the sporty look and spirited driving.

  5. Got a squared setup of these tires on my Mustang due to changing my wheels from OEM to Advan GTs. The OEM tires were Michelin Pilot Sport 4S and I gotta say, these Firestones are quite impressive for the price. Unfortunately I cannot comment on threadwear due to the fact I’ve only had them for 1500kms but they perform really well especially for the price. My only comparison are the Michelin PS4S and the grip is 90% there in dry. I didn’t get to push these in wet yet but the days that they rained, I didn’t feel any less confident. The only reason I knew these had a bit less grip than the PS4S is on hard turns at around 70kmph on a bend, i can hear these wheels losing traction a bit in the back, but never total loss. For literally half the price for my size in 285/35R19, these are great tires and I’ll probably try them again in the future!
