The Grabber A/TX is General’s On-/Off-Road All-Terrain tire developed for the drivers of pickup trucks, work vans and full-size SUVs who need confident traction in a variety of conditions, whether that is on pavement, in dirt, wet conditions and even light snow. The Grabber A/TX is designed to blend rugged durability and on-road civility, in addition to providing light snow traction that meets the tire industry’s severe snow service requirements and earns the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

A tough, cut- and chip-resistant compound is molded into the all-terrain tread pattern of the Grabber A/TX. General’s Comfort Balance Technology utilizes an absorption layer under the tread and acoustic tread pattern to enhance ride and sound comfort, and the wide footprint and optimized pattern stiffness help evenly distribute pressure for even wear and long life. Stone bumpers between the alternating shoulder blocks help eject rocks and debris to prevent drilling, and Sidewall Protection Lugs are designed to protect from sidewall punctures. Deep starting tread depths and multi-angle tread blocks aid traction in loose terrain, while traction notches and sipes create additional biting edges for grip in dirt, wet conditions and snow. Grabber A/TX tires are designed to accept optional metal studs to enhance traction on ice and packed snow.

The internal construction of the Grabber A/TX utilizes General’s DuraGen Technology, with ultra-high-strength steel belts, a robust, two-ply polyester casing to balance toughness and ride comfort and two polyamide reinforcement plies that aid durability and provide high-speed capability.

Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

  1. Got these for my ’04 Tahoe Z71 to replace the A/T’s turned drag slicks from the previous owner last December. They perform great on any paved surface, wet or dry, and on the trails that I adventure on about once a month. There was a snowstorm (or ice storm here in SC) and on the snowy or wet roads the truck only broke traction when I tried to. AKA flooring it in 2WD. I went with the ATX’s over the BFG KO2’s because of the price, similar reviews, and mileage warranty and I couldn’t be more satisfied with them

  2. With only a 1,000 miles and in the summer months; at this time I really like the tires. Waiting to see how they “wear” and the performance this winter before being “sold” 100%.

  3. Excellent general purpose truck tires. 10k miles so far, and only 2 32nds of wear. Should get me to 50k easily. I’ve had them in snow up to 8in on both pavement and dirt roads, out on the beach, on washed-out forest roads, and through nail-strewn construction sites with no issues at all. Reasonable road noise for an AT tire, after the first week and below 75mph you won’t notice them at all. Above 75mph they do vibrate a bit, and the tire is only rated to 88 so I’ve never been above 80 in them.I have the E-rated tires and run them @ 40psi front, 35 rear for highway use. I Bump up the rear’s to 55 when hauling my 1600lb water tank. I’ve had them down to 12psi on the beach with no slippage and great traction. I don’t do any crawling or heavy mud off-roading so these are pretty much the perfect tire for me. I originally considered KO2s, but these looked like a similar tread for a decent amount less. Super satisfied so far, will almost certainly be getting another set in 4-5y when these wear out.

  4. After replacing 2 sets of OEM Tires, I put in leveling struts to fit this one-up size tires on my ’11 F150.For the tread pattern, they are remarkably quiet. Compared to the OEMs, they are a stiffer tire. In my opinion, my truck drives much safer and with more stability, although the original P tires were softer. I can’t say enough good things about the life of the tire, especially at the price. I do a lot of highway, no towing, but the truck is usually loaded to half-capacity.The work equally well in the rain, snow and dry. I very rarely leave the pavement, but they do well offroad on the few occasions a year its in the sand/mud.I just bought my second set after getting nearly 60K miles on my last set. Would strongly recommend if you are looking at this style of tire for your truck, and you prioritize a great deal of stability over a minor reduction in ride quality.
