Max Performance Summer run-flat tires provide temporary self-supporting run-flat mobility for a distance of 50 miles at up to 50 mph, even after a puncture has allowed complete air pressure loss. They are designed for serious driving enthusiasts who want a combination of a performance appearance, competent handling and Z-speed rated (or higher) durability with enhanced dry and wet traction. Often used as Original Equipment (O.E.) on powerful sports cars, performance coupes and high performance sedans, Max Performance Summer run-flat tires are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Goodyear’s warranty states: “Ultra high-performance summer tires are not recommended for winter use, and tread or shoulder cracking on those tires resulting from winter use will not be covered under our warranty.”

O.E. Max Performance Summer run-flat tires are typically purchased as direct replacements for worn-out pairs/sets of the vehicle’s original tires. They can also be used for other vehicle applications in complete sets of four or axle pairs if available in an appropriate size, load range and speed rating to match the existing O.E. run-flat tires’ performance category and specifications.

NOTE: Run-flat tires are only recommended for vehicles that are originally equipped with self-supporting run-flat tires and equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system.

  1. Tires came stock on the car. They are terrible. You should only drive this car with these tires in dry conditions. If there is any bit of water on the road, I must put my car in snow/ice mode to compensate for the lack of traction. WORST TIRES EVER.

  2. These are the worst tires i ever had. I have been driving with them almost 11,000 miles and they are already done. Please do not get these run flat tires. I do not know why bmw choose them. I rather own pirelli or michelin tires. At least they would not be loud as these. If you have 20 inch rims you should definetly not get run flats.

  3. This is the 3rd set of tires on my S3 , have to say I change tires every 8k miles so I really don’t look to much upon treadwear . Originals were sport contacts 5 which were great tires, perhaps the best i had until that moment ,previously to this car i had a GTI , chipped and suspension tuned. where i used bridgestone S04 and assymetrics 2. Said that , i got to say these are much better than all those tires which i considered great , these ones give me the impression that they are in another leage , comfort , dry performance, and steering response are much better than previously owned tires, i guess technology has changed and the new tires coming from Continental and Pirelli and Bridgestone will make a good challenge. I read in a previous review that braking had another feel , this is true where u can feel a difference, a positive difference in braking feel.one thing that i really want to stand out is the how progressive they are at the limit where theres these feeling like ur driving a much lighter car with inmediate response of the inputs to the steering and how well adviced you are when starting to reach the limit, my car got a bit tail happy which is great for an awd car. ill recommend these tires to anyone. regards, M

  4. I really like that these tires don’t generate any weird noise tones/growls at any speeds. These tires have stiff sidewalls making for a very direct feel regarding steering inputs. The ones I received have 2 ply sidewall construction. Dry cornering traction is very good but I’ve had a better set of tires in regards to that, but they were worn out within 10K miles so who cares. Wet cornering traction is simply amazing. Braking both wet and dry is amazing. This will sound weird, but these tires give added feel when your applying the brakes. My installer correctly lined up the paint dots to the valve stems and these required very little balancing correction. These tires feel perfectly uniform and balanced. I’m very happy with my purchase.

  5. Wish I know before buying this car because changing tire after 6,000 miles it is not for me.This Goodyear are —-s and Chevy said, change always to original brand and type.I hope to find a better tires than this Goodyear when I have to replace it for a 2nd time.

  6. In addition to Highway and City driving I do use them for Track days, this was my second set of tires and the car only had 2900 miles at the time. Ideally I would use the Michelin S4’s for the Track but as I am not independently wealthy they have to serve double duty and the Michelin’s do not have run flats. My next set (which will be required on my next Track day) I will try out the Pirelli Zero Run flats.

  7. I live in nyc and drive a camaro ss and these tires inspire absolutely zero driver confidence! Traction is just non-exsistint ! I sent my car down to Hennessey Performance and now has 600 hp, and it has only maximized how much I dislike these tires. Between the zero traction or how the tires handle over small bumps , I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. Will be purchasing Michelin 4s tires soon as spring time starts, do not get these tires!

  8. The tires wear out very fast, although I do drive spirited it wasn’t like I was ripping around a track or doing any type of burnouts. the tires were very noisy and did not accept any imperfections very well. at about 10000 miles or wear I noticed that the tires were already mostly gone and I have stretching them out for as long as I can. I most likely will not buy this tire for the next set
