Highway Rib Summer light truck tires are for drivers who want a combination of heavy-duty load capacity, even wear and low noise along with traction on dry and wet roads. Sometimes used as Original Equipment (O.E.) on medium and heavy-duty 2WD trucks, vans and pickups, Highway Rib Summer tires are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
O.E. Highway Rib Summer light truck tires are typically purchased as direct replacements for worn-out pairs/sets of the vehicle’s original tires. They can also be used for other vehicle applications in complete sets of four or axle pairs if available in an appropriate size, load range and speed rating to match the existing O.E. tires’ performance category and specifications.

This is my second set of Agilis 61s for my Vanagon. Believe me, I echo whayt everyone else on this review says: If you value your life, use these tires. My only hope is that Michelin will keep making this tire for this relatively limited market. I had a set of 215/14 Goodyear Wrangler something or others on my Vanagon originally and they felt like marshmallows underneath me. Having owned older VW vans that didnt weigh as much as the Vanagon, you have got to have reinforced sidewalls to be safe on the road.during a heavy rainstorm, plowing through large puddles will tend to get the hydroplaning in action, but these were severe conditions that I probably shouldve been traveling a bit slower for total safety.Like the others, availability is the worrisome part, although I wish they were a little better in light snow and ice. Part of the problem is the Vanagons near-50/50 weight distribution unlike the older VWs that were traction kings during hard winters. I cant recommend this product highly enough.
I have 100k on my van and this is my 3rd set of tires. These are the only tires that work for this van and they have served me well. They have strong sidewalls and great traction. They are the only ones I would put on the van even if I did have a choice these have been great tires for a van.
Mucho Expensive, but probably worth it as this tire is one of the few 14 inch tires with the load rating needed for a post ’64 VW Bus or the later Vanagons. Rated all season, but still very much a summer tire in my eyes. Not great in mud and lite snow and bad on ice, but better overall than the Bridgestone 603V’s I had before… a “Summer Rib” tire which I found scarily prone to hydroplaning in the rain.
I just bought my second set and will never use a different tire on my Vanagon. Theyre a little more expensive, but worth every penny.
the car drives more comfortable since I have these tires. And now with the snow, it feels like I am driving a 4×4 (I have FWD)
The right tire and wheel combination for the Eurovan Weekender
