Michelin Pilot Sport 4 is a Max Performance Summer tire. Max Performance Summer tires are for serious driving enthusiasts who want a combination of a performance appearance, competent handling and Z-speed rated (orhigher) durability with enhanced dry and wet traction. Often used as Original Equipment (O.E.) on powerful sports cars, performance coupes and high performancesedans, Max Performance Summer tires are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

O.E. Max Performance Summer tires are typically purchased as direct replacements for worn-out pairs/sets of thevehicle’s original tires. They can also be used for other vehicle applications in complete sets of four or axle pairs if available in an appropriate size, loadrange and speed rating to match the existing O.E. tires’ performance category and specifications.

  1. These came OE with the S-Line A4 Quattro, they’re my first ever experience with summer tires. Purchased in mid-March of a highly variable weather year meant that 50% of the time through early May we had temps below 45F, where I chose safety over excitement for the new car. Potholes on Route 80 are a big threat, did buy expensive tires insurance. When weather reports showed promise is when I’d take the car out. When temp-drop surprised me such as driving up to West Point NY when rain turned to spring snow, I’d get pretty annoyed and drove very scared/conservatively. When the temps eeked into summer tire range, they were superior on dry/wet roads compared to over three decades experience driving performance A/S tires. Response/ride comfort/noise level all good for the car. I’ve not pushed for the limit and probably won’t, but they are building me a lot of confidence in commuting fun. Only thing to monitor would be the miles they can attain, I am doubting that they’ll get close to 40k miles- which is what I expect from past A/S performance tires. Not wanting to invest in winter wheel/tires for a leased vehicle, I plan to lay the car away for the coming winter due to these tires. Really nice tires but I expect my next set will have to dumb back down to A/S performance for practical reasons.

  2. Purchased these tires (275/40/20 Porsche spec) for my Charger Scat Pack as they are the stock sizes for my 20×9.5 Hellcat wheels. Primary use is road course track days and interstate travel to and from events. I’ve had the original Pilot Sports, PS2s, and SuperSports on other vehicles and IMHO the Pilot Sport 4 is better than all them. On VIR Full Course they are markedly better than Continental DW from 2016. Compared to that tire, they have:-better turn in-more grip-better feedback and steering response-better wearOn interstate, they have:-less noise-better ride

  3. I buy this tires trying to improve traction on my fwd audi tt. They not improve any more traction than cheap OEM factory tires. Comfortable tires but they spin a lot in 1 and 2.

  4. Excellent grip dry and in the wet.Hard acceleration on quite wet roads at medium to high speed produces no apparent wheelspin and no activation of traction control.Predictable traction in the wet.The side wall is slightly soft which sacrifices some steering feel.

  5. My car is a 2015 Renault Clio RS, which had GY Eagle F1 Assymetric 2 as OEM and the change is night and day. Mich are 2 or 3 steps ahead in all respecta and were just slightly more expensive.
