Select Your Tire Size on Tirerack

The Premier A/S is Michelin’s Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of coupes, sedans and minivans looking for tires that deliver category-leading wet grip when new and when worn. And even when worn, Premier A/S tires are designed to stop shorter on wet roads than leading competitors’ brand-new tires, as well as provide all-season traction on wintry roads, even in light snow.

The Premier A/S is a Michelin Total Performance tire that utilizes innovative technologies to bring multiple performances together. Combining stopping power, driving control, promised weather appropriateness and enhanced fuel efficiency, Michelin Total Performance tires reduce the influence of traditional trade-offs normally associated with tires. Michelin Total Performance is a promise of Michelin tire excellence.

Premier A/S tires use an extreme silica and sunflower oil enhanced tread compound to increase traction in wet and cold temperatures. This compound is molded into a symmetric tread design featuring a continuous center rib flanked by notched intermediate ribs and linked shoulder blocks to deliver straight-line tracking and responsive dry-road handling. Michelin EverGrip Technology adds Expanding Rain Grooves around the tire’s circumference and Emerging Grooves across the shoulders. As the tire wears, the Expanding Rain Grooves widen while Emerging Grooves open up across each shoulder block to help retain more traction in wet and wintry conditions.

The tire’s internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced with spirally wrapped polyamide cord on top of a polyester casing ply to blend handling and durability with ride uniformity and comfort.

*Specific sizes utilizing Michelin Total Performance eco-focused manufacturing methods are identified as such on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire’s Specs tab.

  1. Great tires, they just do not meet the expected tread life of 60,000. At 42,000, 3 out of 4 tires are down to 3/32, just above state safety mins. I have had the tire rotated and balance regularly. I check inflation every few fill-ups. It’s hard to recommend these tires based on their qualities when they come up 30% short on mileage.

  2. I own a 2016 Avalon HYbrid Limited. The OEM tires were Michelin Primacy, MXV 4, great tires OA but hd to be repalce ( worn out) at 36,000 miles) For the repalcments, I purchased the Michelin V rated, Premier A/S, alledgedly Michelin’s top of the line touring tire. They have 22,000 miles ( they are rated as 60,000 mile tires) and have < 4/32 " tread remaining. Car is driven by my wife , an average driver, mileage is 40% local, and 60% interstate. The Premier A/S are great handling tires, quiet, smooth, luxury ride. Ialso have a set on my '08 Buick Luceren, (rarely driven except back and forth to the beach 500 mi. interstate ) . I like the Premiers but am disappointed with the treadwear, prob. will not purchase them again. I guess it boils down to the value proposition, of V rated tire performance and ltread life. I have always purchsed Micelin, but have been disappointed with the longevity of both the Primacy and the Premier, will not buy either again.

  3. Michelin has been my go to tire for a long time. I bought the Michelin A/S tire for my daughter and the Michelin Premier LTX for my wife’s SUV. Never again will I buy Michelin! They both have around 20,000 miles. The last 2 times that I took them to have the oil changed these tires failed the inspection and Toyota suggested I replace them. The tread on them new is not the same depth as most tires and they have gotten steadily worse in a short time. I spent around $1500 for these sets of tires only to have to replace in 2 years. Searching for another brand I can trust.

  4. I live north of Seattle and needed a tire for mostly wet conditions. I usually put the cruise control on at 78mph during the rain and never experienced hydroplaning or tire spin coming from a dead stop. With other tires this would happen with about 20k miles on them. I think we can get another 10k miles with this set. Excellent in rain and rated them a 7 in snow.

  5. I had to replace these tires at 38000 miles. I drive smoothly, I rotate tires every 7500 miles, and I check alignment regularly. They are pretty good when new but they don’t last.

  6. I think I’m one of the few lucky one who got the tread for at least for 50,000 miles. However, tread is less than 3/32 so I need to replace them. Overall, they are very quite and have good response but I’m looking into Pirelli for my next tires.
