Highway Rib Summer light truck tires are for drivers who want a combination of heavy-duty load capacity, even wear and low noise along with traction on dry and wet roads. Sometimes used as Original Equipment (O.E.) on medium and heavy-duty 2WD trucks, vans and pickups, Highway Rib Summer tires are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

O.E. Highway Rib Summer light truck tires are typically purchased as direct replacements for worn-out pairs/sets of the vehicle’s original tires. They can also be used for other vehicle applications in complete sets of four or axle pairs if available in an appropriate size, load range and speed rating to match the existing O.E. tires’ performance category and specifications.

  1. I hesitated before spending over $200 per tire for this truck, but I am glad I did. With mostly highway driving, they have been excellent in every way. I have 40K miles on them and they show no wear. They are quiet, handle well in both wet or dry conditions. I am guessing I’ll get close to 100k miles on them, which make them a bargain.

  2. This is a great tire for highway/hardstand surfaces. I predict with the amount of tire tread depth remaining that this can/could be a 80,000 tire. It does everything well as explained in the ratings. There is one very real and negative problem with these tires (6) that will cut the tire mileage short……DRYROT….They are cracking on the sidewalls, not inspected the thread area yet. I am attempting to have Michelin warranty all 7 tires on a prorated basis. The tires are only 3 years old as witnessed by the code on the tires and my tire receipt. I hope Michelin will step up to the plate on these tires, they are very expensive and worth it only if the warranty is honored. In spite of these shortcomings I highly recommend these tires…..if…..you take pains to protect (cover) the side walls if the vehicle is not going to be driven for several days. I have never used tire dressings on these tires…that would be a reason for their demise. If you live in real hot areas these tires may not be right for you unless you intend to put a lot of miles on your vehicle really quick. I carry a slide in camper from time to time and the sidewalls on these tires are “stiff” (good) which allows good vehicle control in side winds and on turns. All tires dry rot but as this is my third set of Michelins in over 30 years that have prematurely dry rotted I am not a happy camper.

  3. These tires are used on a triple axle fifth wheel that weighs aprox 17500 lbs. Don’t have many miles yet but they show no wear at all. We stayed in one location for 6 mos and when we went to leave checked the tire pressure. Pressure dropped only 1 lb in each tire. Past tires would drop up to 10 lbs. You just can’t go wrong with Michelin on any application!!

  4. I have these tires on a Chevy 2500HD Utility body work truck. It weighs over 8000 lbs. I’ve put over 91000 miles on the tires and they are just now within 2mm of the wear bars. Definitely buying these again. They run quiet and grip is quite good for a long mileage tire.

  5. Do a lot of hauling with a 53′ drop-deck trailer (HotShot). Used these tires since the truck was new (13 years). They outlast other tires I have used (General/Dunlop)

  6. Fanstatic tire…..use these for summer use only and have over 230,000 miles on them (WILL ONLY LET ME SHOW 99,000 ABOVE) rotating and re-balancing every 10,000 miles…achieved an increase of 3 miles per gal with these tires….these xps ribs wear like iron ….extremely pleased with them , still have 4/32nds tread left on them . Highly recommended tire…..they just dont wear out !!
