High Performance Summer tires are for drivers who want a combination of a sporty appearance, predictable handling and H- or V-speed rated durability along with dry and wet traction. Often used as Original Equipment (O.E.) on sports cars, sporty coupes and performance sedans, High Performance Summer tires are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

O.E. High Performance Summer tiresare typically purchased as direct replacements for worn-out pairs/sets of the vehicle’s original tires. They can also be used for other vehicle applications incomplete sets of four or axle pairs if available in an appropriate size, load range and speed rating to match the existing O.E. tires’ performance category andspecifications.

  1. After some 5,000 miles with the Powergys, Im very glad BMW selected them for the Sports Package option. They stick like glue wet or dry, are barely audible at speed and corner on rails. These are summer-only tires, so the Bimmer will stay in the garage when theres snow on the ground. Also, with a wear index of only 180, I dont expect long tread life, but well see.Just one problem–so far, Ive picked up two roofing nails in 5,000 miles, one of which destroyed a tire. This may be a coincidence, of course, and only time will tell.

  2. These tires flat spot when parked over nite in cool weather and require 3 to 5 miles to warm up and stop shaking. This problem gets worse with lower temps. and longer time parked.

  3. It rains here alot, and saying i have a spirited driving style is putting it mildly, ive done alot of modifications to my car (power and suspension) and these tire suit my driving style and weather conditions perfectly.

  4. It is a good tire but I should have researched my options further to include an all season tire. We have snow approximately 6 months of the year which limits my use of the Chrysler to dry winter days. Do you have any suggestions for a winter tire (2) that I could place on the front of my Chrysler for winter use only.

  5. Overall a good summer tire for the price. After about 20000 miles the tires started getting louder. Treadwear is a little on the high side.

  6. Ive just replace my original set of Conti PremiumContact with P6000 powergy and quite happy with it – it is a very good all round tire and the noise level and ride comfort is exceptional at 38psi all round

  7. Things I am happy with:1. Dry traction2. Noise3. Steering responsivenessThings I am NOT happy with:1. Picked up a nail at around 12000 miles, and completelydestroyed that tire – because the tire is so low profile, you can not tell when you get a flat, until your rim shreds your sidewall to bits. Pirelli wont replace the tire because I drove on a flat tire. So there is the problem – you get a flat, 95% chances are you will shred your tire, if you use a low profile tire like the OEM ones on my BMW.Will look at something much cheaper next time.

  8. Huge upgrade from the stock tires. Excellent traction in both wet and dry conditions. Im able to take corners much faster than before. Tires are a little noisy, especially at end of tire life. Parking lot steering response much slower than stock, but not really a fair comparison since I went from stock 205/60/16 to 225/55/16. Stock rims are really better suited for 215/55/16, but I wanted the most traction I could get on the stock rim. These tires lasted a lot longer than I thought they would. Good milage.

  9. Tires developed flat spot overnight. One reviewer I read prior to buying the tires said that the tire has an affinity to pick up punctures; not believing this could be the case – I bought them anyway. I had one punctured tire and one with a nail still in it (running my winter set now). I am getting a whole new set this season.

  10. Pirelli P6000 Powergy is a nice everyday tyre. Great level of comfort and road performance. Bit of a soft compound tyre so wear rate is good but not excellent. Overall the tyre goes well with the 320D BMW 2004 model.

  11. Great all round tyre, did 35 000 miles on my first set with very “enthusiastic” driving. currently on my second set. Tyres does seem prone to puncturing though.
