Max Performance Summer run-flat tires provide temporary self-supporting run-flat mobility for a distance of 50 miles at up to 50 mph, even after a puncture has allowed complete air pressure loss. They are designed for serious driving enthusiasts who want a combination of a performance appearance, competent handling and Z-speed rated (or higher) durability with enhanced dry and wet traction. Often used as Original Equipment (O.E.) on powerful sports cars, performance coupes and high performance sedans, Max Performance Summer run-flat tires are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

O.E. Max Performance Summer run-flat tires are typically purchased as direct replacements for worn-out pairs/sets of the vehicle’s original tires. They can also be used for other vehicle applications in complete sets of four or axle pairs if available in an appropriate size, load range and speed rating to match the existing O.E. run-flat tires’ performance category and specifications.

NOTE: Run-flat tires are only recommended for vehicles that are originally equipped with self-supporting run-flat tires and equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system.

Limited sizes of the SP Sport MAXX 050 DSST CTT are available with Dunlop’s Noise Shield Technology, which involves the manufacturer adhering a layer of sound-absorbing foam to the inner liner of the tire to reduce cabin noise in the vehicle. These sizes are identified on the Specs page and in the search results.

  1. These tires are horrible! They are noisy, do not handle well with any acceleration. They follow all the grooves in the road and have horrible wet weather traction. I am also very disappointed to be told at my 10,000 miles service that they are worn out already and need replacement. For the price of these I should be able to get more than 10,000 miles. My miles are mostly highway with the cruise control on. I expected more from these tires. I also couldn’t believe the difference in the ride quality and noise level when I went and test drove another one without the runflat tires. So besides forking out the money earlier than I thought I would have to I guess this is a blessing in disguise to need new tires. The technology is cool and all of the runflat but in 20+ years of driving I’ve only had one flat tire so I guess I’ll take my chances with normal tires.

  2. Do not buy, they are very loud. So happy to get these tires off my car. They came on the car new. Lasted about 35k. Also have two bubbles in them.

  3. This tire is absolute JUNK! These tires are a disservice to a fantastic car. With these crappy, and insanely expensive, tires my Q50 Red Sport 400 does not corner well, the wheels spin even under moderate acceleration and in wet conditions forget about it–might as well be driving around with water skis instead of tires. And, the noise-HOLY CRAP-I have never heard such a loud tire and with 15,000 miles they generate so much road noise that it sounds like all of the windows are down. People in the backseat cannot even hear conversations due to the noise level. Around 7,000 miles, the tires started to react oddly over minor imperfections on the freeways where it almost feels like the car is stuck in a rut and gets very shifty. I truly cannot say one good thing about these tires. I cannot wait to replace them with Michelin Pilot 4S tires. Whatever you do, do NOT even think about getting these tires. How Dunlop could produce such a poor product is unfathomable, irresponsible and certainly makes me not want to consider any products from them.

  4. I have only had my Red Sport for 2 months and hate these tires. Drove one without the run flats and the tire noise difference is ridiculous. The non run flat tires were way more responsive and overall just felt better. I can’t wait until these wear out. I dont feel like I can safely push the limits of car except in a straight line. They must be giving Infiniti a good kickback with all these negative comments and issues. Hopefully they listen and stop using thes horrible tires.

  5. Straight line traction isn’t great yet braking performance seems good. Rough riding and they hunt on the road surface. Moderate for cornering. Ridiculously overpriced while checking pricing on TireRack vs. other tires. At the dealer now due to a sidewall bulge that might have been from hitting the inside of the rim. I’ll be sure to edit my review if Dunlop doesn’t warranty them.

  6. One word = Garbage! bubbles and popped like 5 tires already good thing I have Rim and Tire Insurance, you’re better off wrapping your Rims with pool floaties. Shame on Infiniti for giving us these tires on a $60k car.
