Goodyear’s family of Ultra Grip Ice WRT tires featuring their Winter Reactive Technology includes Ultra Grip Ice WRT LT Studdable Winter / Snow tires developed for the drivers of light-duty pickup trucks, full-size vans and sport utility vehicles looking for enhanced wintertime traction. Goodyear’s Winter Reactive Technology combines innovative features working together to help drivers react to changing winter driving conditions when starting, stopping and turning in snow and on ice.
Ultra Grip Ice WRT LT tires use Goodyear’s Winter Grip compound molded into a directional tread design with sweeping grooves that help channel water and slush away from under the tire’s footprint to enhance traction and handling in cold, wet and wintry conditions. Two types of sipes are used to provide the biting edges needed to generate additional wintertime traction. Angled three-dimensional TredLock Technology sipes in the shoulder zones lock together to enhance cornering grip while 2D sipes running laterally across the center zone enhance starting and stopping power on snow and ice.
Ultra Grip Ice WRT LT winter / snow radials meet the industry’s severe snow service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
Founder at Tiresout. Used to be working as an engineer at Bridgestone Tires Akron Technical Center. The responsibilities included but were not limited to technical computing, indoor & outdoor testing of new tires.
Pulled 15,000 lbs through closed highways in snowstorm and never once all winter untill the last 5000 miles did I ever feel a slip. Drove highways that were compacted snow and clear transparent ice at 55 mph with no apprehension. Fantastic winter tires.
Bought these tires because of my ice covered drive way. First time I used them all 4 tries just spun. They don’t get any traction on ice and wear very quickly treable on dry pavement in s turns. Goodyear must have not tested this tire. I live in vermont and we get a lot of snow and ice and this tire is useless don’t wast your money.
